How the Bucket Score works

We fetch your homepage, plus up to two relevant subpages such as pricing, signup, demo or a product page, the way a browser would, identified as TightBucketBot. We call Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile) for speed metrics, and query public DNS over HTTPS for SPF, DMARC and DKIM on common selectors.

Scoring

Each check has a weight between 2 and 14. Your score is the weighted share of the applicable checks you pass, from 0 to 100. Checks we can't evaluate (for example, no signup page found) are left out, not counted as fails.

Open checks

The full list of checks and weights is generated from the code that scores your site, and published as open source. Each report records the checks version it ran under.

Limits

• Heuristics can be wrong. Every finding shows its evidence so you can check us.
• We don't log in, submit forms or run your checkout.
• DKIM can exist under custom selectors we don't probe.
• PageSpeed scores vary run to run by a few points; we show Google's number as-is.
